Shared Albums are not a backup plan.

Apple lets people save shared items, but the content is not automatically backed up to your personal library. Shared Album Saver turns that uncertainty into a reviewable checklist.

Before leaving an album

Check which photos and videos are still missing from your library before access changes.

After a trip or event

Review large shared albums without manually comparing every item in Photos.

When changing devices

Confirm shared memories are local before a phone upgrade, Apple ID change, or cleanup session.

A safer path from shared to saved

  1. Scan shared albums Shared Album Saver reads Shared Albums through PhotoKit and builds a local comparison.
  2. Review what is missing Saved, missing, duplicate candidates, and failed items are separated before import.
  3. Import with a log Save selected missing items and keep a local record of what happened.

Questions people search before saving shared albums

Are iCloud Shared Albums automatically backed up?

No. Apple says Shared Album content is not automatically backed up. To keep a shared item, add it to your Photos library.

Does Shared Album Saver upload my photos or use AI processing?

No. The product is designed for on-device scanning and importing. There is no account and no photo upload.

Why does Shared Album Saver need Full Photos Access?

The app needs to compare Shared Albums against your personal library. Limited access can hide items and make the audit incomplete.

Will saved items be original quality?

Not always. Shared Albums contain Apple-provided copies, and those copies may be lower quality than the original files.

Does Shared Album Saver remove duplicate photos?

No. It identifies duplicate candidates and helps you avoid repeat imports, but it does not delete user photos.
